Review: Update: 1/10 Just walked out of the place, the lady upfront is combative and non willing to help. Brevard dont care…it shows. Explains the high homelessness in the area. This place is the worse. Those that claim to be there to help bearly have computer skills, was told I have to “find” the jobs before I can get education assistance. Emailed the lady twice still waiting to hear back. Going to Orlando at this point this whole county is a HUGE joke.

Review: Expressing my extreme disappointment with the service I received today would be an understatement. I wish to share my experience as a cautionary tale, as I know there may be situations where visiting the center is obligatory, such as applying for WIOA training, seeking assistance with unemployment filings, or engaging with a TANF worker, where you have no choice. In my particular case, I had been unemployed for approximately a month, I reached out to this center with the hope of gaining valuable insights into the current labor market and perhaps accessing some additional support in the form of handouts/resources.Taking the initiative, I called ahead to clarify my needs and confirm whether an appointment was necessary. The woman at the front desk was courteous, and after lunch, I embarked on a 30-minute drive, hampered by traffic.Upon arrival, I was directed to the section relevant to my industry. It’s important to note that I do not reside in the area, and my primary objective was to find universal resources. Unfortunately, the gentleman who “assisted” me (and I use that term loosely) was far from helpful. Despite my repeated attempts to clarify the assistance I required, the outcome resembled being rolled out on a dolly rather than receiving genuine help.I was ushered to a computer to apply for jobs on EmployFlorida, with no interest shown in sitting down with me, reviewing my professional materials, or offering any constructive guidance. When I explained my non-residency (I am in town temporarily helping a family member BUT I still need a job), I was essentially told to visit the CareerSource center in my own area, with an implication that they don’t readily assist individuals residing outside the city limits.I felt regretful for making the journey, as my initial optimism after the phone call was completely shattered. While acknowledging that there may be commendable individuals working at this office, my experience embodied the stereotypical image of a “government worker” – lazy, inefficient, and lacking motivation.I’ve resolved to steer clear of this office in the future, and if you have the opportunity to do the same, I would strongly recommend considering it.

Review: I applied for a job over a year ago on my own merit and they asked if I would go through CareerSource so I did. I ended my employment there 6 months later due to moving out of state, with a new job in tow. These people have not stopped calling, texting, and emailing me for the last 10 MONTHS. They will not update my information. I have endlessly asked them to update it and cease contact. I eventually blocked a phone number for them and stopped responding all together rather recently. Now they are contacting me from a different number. The onboarding process for the job I had was wonderful and they have so many resources. Please update my file. Please stop contacting me. No, I will not have this conversation YET AGAIN. I refuse to take more time out of my workday to have a 15 minute phone call that is quite literally the same every time.
